Growing Our Future

Turning waste into value-added products

The Padgett's Pinebark story
A Tasmanian family owned business

Padgett’s Pinebark is a family owned and operated business based in the North East of Tasmania, specialising in the production and bulk distribution of wood fibre based products across the state.

Established in 1991, Padgett's Pinebark was created to utilise waste pine bark and other residues that local sawmills were discarding as a result of the timber production process. Padgett's originally produced graded bark for landscaping, before moving into growing media production and distribution.

Padgett's Pinebark has a proven ability to provide products that are created specifically to meet changing customer demands. Our adaptable production process provides an ability to create tailored solutions for the end user depending on their needs.

Sustainability
"Forests, Our Future"

Padgett's pine bark, garden mulch and wood fibre products are all made from residue left over from the forestry industry which would historically have been burned or buried as a waste product.

After the plantation timber is harvested and processed, nothing is wasted. The wood fibre left over is mulched, then made into one of our many pine bark and wood fibre products, which are used by Councils, farmers, nurseries, landscape suppliers and many others throughout the state.

A truly sustainable full-circle product, the residue material is also aged and screened to make potting media which is used to grow the next generation of plantation tree seedlings.

We tried several suppliers before we found Padgett's Pinebark - since then our stock has never looked better. They are super easy to deal with and are very punctual with their delivery. Thank you Padgett's for the great product and service!
